Focus

Bahareh’s focus is on helping individuals heal from trauma and navigate the complexities of past trauma and cultural identity. She works with clients to address and process the deep emotional wounds caused by traumatic experiences, guiding them toward recovery and resilience. Recognizing the profound impact that cultural identity can have on one's mental health, she also supports individuals in understanding and embracing their cultural backgrounds. This involves exploring issues related to cultural adaptation, identity conflicts, and the challenges of living between different cultural worlds. By fostering a safe and inclusive environment, she helps clients integrate their cultural identities into a cohesive sense of self, promoting overall well-being and personal growth.

Background

She immigrated to Canada as a young adult, and the transition was both challenging and transformative. As an Iranian-Canadian woman, adjusting to a new culture, navigating the complexities of a new environment, and balancing family dynamics were significant hurdles she faced. Being married outside of her culture has enriched her life with even more multicultural experiences, deepening her appreciation for cultural diversity.

These experiences have given her firsthand insight into the unique struggles of immigrants, including the trauma that can come with such significant life changes. The challenges of displacement, cultural adjustment, and identity integration have deeply shaped her view of trauma and its effects. Bahareh’s personal journey has equipped her with a profound empathy for those dealing with trauma and has highlighted the importance of cultural sensitivity and understanding in the healing process.

Additionally, having a family member with a mental health diagnosis sparked her interest in the mental health field. Through witnessing their struggles, she was inspired to explore this field further. Through this journey, she has gained extensive work experience with local Health Authorities and developed a comprehensive understanding of psychiatry and psychotropic medications. She has worked with individuals diagnosed with mental health conditions such as Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia disorder, and other Psychotic disorders.

Her professional background has provided her with insights into the systemic challenges faced by those seeking mental health care, further motivating her to advocate for and support individuals and families with mental health needs.
